English
We have begun the last chapter in the book. The topic is adverbs. I am hoping to finish the chapter and test the kids before the year is over but May can be such a crazy month with all the different activities that are going on. I will keep you posted.

Writing
All of the groups have completed their poster boards for their new sports teams. This is a very creative and clever bunch of kids and I am so pleased with how the posters turned out. This week, the groups will begin writing their six paragraph descriptive paper that goes with the poster.

Science
We will continue our study of American space travel. No new dates were added last week.

English
We will continue the chapter on adverbs this week. The topics are using good and well correctly and negatives. I do plan to finish the chapter this week and give the test next week; either Wednesday or Thursday.

Writing
The kids are still working on their projects. With all the may events I'm not sure if we will ever finish these.

Science
To date we have covered the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo Programs. There will be a quiz on these three programs Thursday, 5/21. The important dates will be a part of the quiz and to date your child should have 1957, 1958, 1961, 1962, 1967, and 1969 in his/her notebook.
This week we will also cover America's Fourth Space Program: Skylab.
