The Chicago Public Schools Child Team will begin to screen our preschoolers and kindergartners starting this Monday, November 7th. Motor and social skills, speech and language, and vision and hearing will be assessed. If you have not already done so, please complete and sign the consent form that has been sent home with your child. This service is also available to all preschool and/or kindergarten children, even if they don't attend our school. If you know of anyone or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call.

Some of our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders received last week information from the Center for Talent Development. The qualifying score for participation in this program, referred to as the Midwest Academic Search, is based on your child's most Terra Nova test. As indicated in the letter, please carefully read all the detailed information about the program and registration guidelines and deadlines included in the Family Handbook. Also, please be sure to congratulate your children on their achievement. If you have any questions, please let us know.
Enjoy the Beautiful Fall Weather!

Welcome Back!

Nothing is as full of possibilities as the beginning of the new year. I am looking forward for all of us working together to provide successful learning experiences for our children. Individual Accommodation Plans were discussed and given to the teachers last week at our grade level meetings. Appropriate modifications will continue to be given to the resource children based on their individual needs. Permission letters have been sent home and next week, I will begin to meet with the kindergarten, first, second, and third grade children. Ongoing consultation with the teachers will be provided for the children in grades fourth through eighth. If there are any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to call or email me.
Hope to see you at our "meet and greet" night next Tuesday, September 6th.
