Happy New Year to all. Many thanks for my Christmas and birthday gifts. You were very generous. The quarter will be ending Friday, and I have been reminding the children to make sure their 8 books are read for accelerated reading.
We have been talking about our Baptism in Religion class this week. The children have been bringing in rememberances from their Baptism. We have had pictures, candles, white cloths,
gowns, shoes, and certificates. We will have a test Friday on this lesson. It is chapter 6 in our Religion book. We will also have a Spelling test Friday on Unit 15.
We took a reading test yesterday on Marven and the Great North Woods, so we will begin a new story today, On the Pampas. It is a story about what it is like to be a cowboy, or a cowgirl in Argentina.
Just a reminder that we are off Monday, January 15th. Have a good weekend.

We had a Religion test today on Chapter 7 in our book. We have been talking about the Beatitudes. These were given to us from Jesus to guide us in finding true happiness. They also help us to know how to make others happy. The children have been bringing in newspaper articles that show people living the Beatitudes today.

Last week they were given a book report form on how to make a character can. These are due on Wednesday of next week, January 31st. Some have been coming in already, and they are doing a great job, very creative. Our story for this week is THE STORM, it is also an accelerated reading book. The children should take the test on this book. We are beginning our 3rd quarter, so the children should read another 8 books. Some have been reading books with many pages, and they were told to check with me, and I will tell them how many books that will be worth.

Sunday is Open House and the beginning of Catholic Schools Week. We have some fun events planned for this week. Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday. GO BEARS!!!!
