(Mollusks, echinoderms, athropods>invertebrates Fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals>vertebrates) Chemists in sixth grade are studying matter, atoms, compounds and the periodic table. There is a project that is due Tuesday on creating an Element playing card. Directions were given on Thursday. On Friday and Monday, the students will be creating chemical compounds with the use of construction paper and gumdrops. Both groups are heading toward a test on Lessons one and two by late next week. 5th grade science project

Look at page 49 for a diagram of this project.
Label your paper VASCULAR PLANTS
Divide the Vascular Plants into two groups: SEEDLESS AND SEEDS
Under the seedless section find four pictures of seedless vascular plants and label the plant.
Under the seed section, find two pictures of gymnosperm plant and label the plant and write the word Gymnosperm. Then find two pictures of angiosperm plants and label the plants and write the word Angiosperm. For extra credit, locate a picture of the seed theat the gymnosperm and angiosperm originated from and label it.
Remember, the layout is in your notebook. You can use a peice of computer paper to do this project. Neatness and spelling are very important. Use a ruler. Your name goes in the lower right corner of the paper.

Sixth grade science

The sixth grade students have completed their study of molecular movement. We have studied the three types of matter. We've discussed topics of evaporation, condensation and pressure. Experiments have been done to reinforce these topics. We have also inferred how temperature and its relation to the movement of molecules apply to cooking. As a wrap up to our lesson, your child may use this idea of molecular motion and temperature to bring in a baked treat for their science class any day next week.
