Summer Reading
The theme this year is - Beat the Heat - READ!
The kindergarten - 2nd grade should read a book or have someone read one to them.
Then they color the summer picture and put the title underneath.
The sheet should be handed in the lst day of school in August.
The 3rd- 7th graders should read 5 chapter books in their reading zone. A book that is 200 pages or more is worth 2 books. Read and fill out your sheet. The sheet should be handed in the lst day of school in August.
Here are some ideas to encourage reading this summer:
Read an animal story.
Have someone read to me or read to someone younger in your family.
Read under a tree.
Read a book with a green or yellow cover.
Read a book by an author you love.
Read a book that is funny.
Read a book and see the movie.
Have someone listen to you read.
Listen to a recording of a book.
Go to the library on a really hot day and read.
Read a book while traveling in a car or airplane.
Read a book on vacation.
Have fun finding a new genre to read.
Read a book you have always wanted to read but didn't have time to.
Join a summer reading program at your local library.
Visit a library that you have never been to before.
Have fun and enjoy the love of reading.
I can't believe another year is over. Wishing everyone a fun and relaxing summer and don't forget to READ!
Happy summer! Happy reading!
