Happy Summer Reading!
Library Statistics
This year the students took out and read over 16, 902 books from our library. That is amazing. They have taken over 12,600 accelerated reading quizzes for a total of 24, 469 accelerated reading points. Congratulations to all of our readers! I am so proud of each of you.
Ice Cream Party
This past Friday 60 students from grades 2-7th were treated to an ice cream party for having the most accelerated reading points. Congratulations to those of you who did all that reading. Looking forward to next year's pizza and ice cream party.
Summer Reading
This year's theme is "Read Around the World"
Grades K-2nd
Each time you read a book or a book is read to you color one of the continents and then print the title underneath. Hand in the sheet the 1st day of the new school year.
Grades 3-7th
Read 5 chapter books in your reading zone. If a book has more than 250 pages put it down for 2 books. Hand in the sheet the 1st day of the new school year.
Take advantage of all of the great libraries we have in our neighborhood. Listen to books on tape in the car, go to one of the public library summer reading programs or read a book with a friend. Just have some fun with reading this summer.
Have a great summer!
Happy reading!
