Week of December 7, 2009

Hi parents,

I will return to school on Tuesday, December 8. Although I was absent for three school days, my substitute, Mrs. Eileen Glynn, is a very capable teacher.

I rarely get sick with flu, but I really got clobbered this time. I don't think I had H1N1 (swine flu). I think it was H2N2. I asked God that if he would make me get well faster, I would not eat a ham sandwich again.

I am going to review multiplying decimals before I give the students a quiz. I will also review multiplying decimals by 10, 100, or 1,000 by "moving" the decimal point, and then also give a quiz.

Also, remember that the fifth graders not only have textbook and workbook homework, but they always have a daily supply of Accelerated Math sheets to work on as well.

I did not have Mrs. Glynn give a Unit Test in Social Studies, because I want to further discuss certain points first. The test will be given on Thursday.
