Week of April 27, 2009
Last week was shorter, and Room 203 had only nine students in Math class on Thursday because of practice for new altar servers with Father Bob in church. Rooms 201 and 202 had an impromptu lesson on "time", pages 370-371. (Homework is due on Tuesday, April 28th.) Room 203 will get caught up this week. Homework on graphing inequalities for all homerooms is also due on Tuesday. (Accelerated Math is on Monday.)
On Tuesday, pages 348-349 will be covered. On Wednesday, page 356 (Enrichment, Multiplying Integers) along with a coordinated lesson on dividing integers will be covered. Thursday's class will cover pages 376-377. There will be a test on Friday covering the naming of ordered pairs to locate points on a "coordinated grid", and multiplying and dividing integers.
On Wednesday and Thursday, the 6th graders are given time to scan for Accelerated Math, and they do receive homework sheets (after scanning). The students master more Accelerated Math objectives with the extra work load.

Week of April 27, 2009
During the week of April 27th, the 5th graders will have Accelerated Math on Monday. On Tuesday, fractions with "special" LCM's will be reviewed for a quiz on Wednesday. The students have a list of "special" common denominators which makes adding and subtracting easier. You can find them copied in their Math notebooks. The remainder of the week, and continuing into next week will cover chapter 12, multiplying and dividing fractions.
On Wednesday and Thursday, the 5th graders are given some time to scan for Accelerated Math. After scanning, they are issued new assignments to complete at home. The goal is to increase the number of objectives mastered.
