Dear Parents

Dear Parents,

Now that the school year is into its second week, I wish to give a synopsis of what the students and I will be doing in math class. We will be following the sequence of the textbook. I will always teach the material first from my daily - prepared lesson plans. Students are to copy from the board, in a neat way, everything I tell them to write down. This note taking will facilitate studying for a test if something is forgotten.

Written homework will be assigned virtually everyday. Assignments will be given either from the textbook, pages of an accompanying workbook, or supplementary worksheets, hand - prepared by me. If a student misses an assignment,or if an assignment is incomplete ( yes, even if only the last three problems are unfinished ) a printed, "Missing Math Assinment"
form will be sent home to be signed by a parent and returned the next day, along with the missing work. Homework for absent or vacationing students will follow the procedures as stated in the handbook.

The Trimester grade will be averaged from the tests, quizes, Accelerated Math, and various graded homework assignments. The first assignment of new material is for reinforcement only and will not be graded.

Students are to have a good supply of pencils, and are to do all Math work in pencil only ( for erasing ). The Math notebook is not to be used for a different subject.

My experience in teaching Math is the all Math is learnable. I will make it learnable for the students. They have to cooperate by doing their work and contribute to a proper learning environment with good and quiet behavior. I am available after school on Mondays through Thursdays from 2:30 - 3:15 if any student wants to come for help. Usually the confusion can be resolved in ten minutes. It is up to a student to take initiative to see me after school. We will have a successful Math year. I guarantee it !!

Sincerely,

Mr. Ciezadlo
